Taxonomy
Turbo squamiferus was named by d’Archiac and de Verneuil (1842). It is not a trace fossil.

It was corrected as Turbo squamifer by Sandberger and Sandberger (1855); it was recombined as Limburgia squamifer by Heidelberger (2001); it was recombined as Limburgia squamiferus by Wagner (2023).
