Taxonomy
Turritella trochleata was named by Münster (1840). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Loxonema trochleata by Whidborne (1896) and Whidborne (1896); it was recombined as Loxonema trochleatum by Tolmachoff (1930); it was recombined as Stylonema trochleatum by Amler and Heidelberger (2003).
