Worthenia subalata was named by Koken and Perner (1925) [Worthenia subalata Koken in Koken & Perner 1925]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Lophospira subalata by Teichert (1932), Rõõmusoks (1970) and Wagner (2023).
