Taxonomy
Zygopleura benniana was named by Longstaff (1933). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Law Quarry near Dalry, which is in a Brigantian carbonate limestone in the Lower Limestone Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Palaeozygopleura (Palaeozygopleura) benniana by Horný (1955); it was recombined as Palaeozygopleura benniana by Batten (1966) and Wagner (2023).
