Lepetopsis levettei
Taxonomy
Patella levettei was named by White (1882). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Spergen Hill, near railroad station at Harristown, southeast of Salem, which is in a Meramecian carbonate limestone in the Salem Formation of Indiana. It is the type species of Lepetopsis.
It was recombined as Lepetopsis levettei by Whitfield (1882), Thein and Nitecki (1974) and Wagner (2023).
