Taxonomy
Cyclothyridae was named by Makridin (1964). Its type is Cyclothyris.

It was corrected as Cyclothyrididae by Williams et al. (2002) and Gaetani (2019).

It was assigned to Rhynchonellida by Makridin (1964); and to Hemithiridoidea by Williams et al. (2002) and Gaetani (2019).
