Huangzhishania was named by Chen et al. (2004). It is not extant. Its type is Huangzhishania permotriassica.

It was assigned to Ophiuridae by Chen et al. (2004).

Chen et al. 2004Small ophiuroid with large, circular central disc and long, apparently spinose arms; arms bent horizontally; lateral arm shields moderately broad, wrapping around arm medially separated by oral arm shield, with a pair of conspicuous podial pores at proximal ends of both lateral shields; one small arm spine arranged at each lateral shield, parallel to arm margin; oral arm shields narrow, trapezoid proximally and terminating distally; arm base distinct, massive; marginals absent around large central disc; jaw plates unclear; mouth frame large, star-shaped, open.
