Chrispaulia was named by Gale (2005). It is not extant. Its type is Nymphaster radiatus. It was considered monophyletic by Gale (2011).

It was assigned to Goniopectinidae by Gale (2005), Gale (2011), Gale (2011) and Gale and Jagt (2021).
