Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
V. M. Arbour and P. J. Currie 2016Uniquely amongst ankylosaurs, premaxillae have protruding ornamentation forming a hooked process at the lateral edges; ventral end of quadrate projects posteriorly; occipital condyle projects horizontally; basal tubera wedge shaped and project ventrally to a greater extent than any other ankylosaur; ischium with large knob on medial side near pubic peduncle. Differs from derived ankylosaurines and some nodosaurids in the presence of amorphous cranial ornamentation not subdivided into caputegulae (also present in Gastonia, Gobisaurus and Shamosaurus).
