Anatipopecten anatipes

Taxonomy
Pecten anatipes was named by Morton (1833) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene-Early Oligocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 12575, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Anatipopecten.

It was recombined as Pecten (Nodipecten) anatipes by Dall (1898); it was recombined as Chlamys (Chlamys) anatipes by Tucker-Rowland (1936); it was recombined as Chlamys anatipes by Ivey (1957); it was recombined as Flexopecten anatipes by Palmer and Brann (1965); it was recombined as Chlamys (Anatipopecten) anatipes by Dockery (1982); it was recombined as Anatipopecten anatipes by Waller (2011).
