Taxonomy
Natica sulcata was named by Born (1778). It is extant. It is the type species of Stigmaulax.

It was recombined as Natica (Stigmaulax) sulcata by Dall (1892) and Maury (1917); it was recombined as Stigmaulax sulcata by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
