Arceodomus was named by Pojeta and Runnegar (1976) [Sepkoski's age data: C Serp-l P Sakm Sepkoski's reference number: 542]. It is not extant. Its type is Conocardium glabratum. It is the type genus of Arceodomidae.
It was assigned to Conocardioida by Sepkoski (2002); to Conocardiidae by Pojeta and Runnegar (1976) and Wagner (2020); and to Arceodomidae by Mazaev (2023).
