Nehedia was named by Johnston and Chatterton (1983) [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl]. It is not extant. Its type is Nehedia grovesi.

It was assigned to Hippocardiidae by Johnston and Chatterton (1983); to Conocardioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pseudobigaleainae by Rogalla and Amler (2006).
