Sphaeriaster jurassicus
Taxonomy
Sphaeriaster jurassicus was named by Hess (1972). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Naturhistorisches Museum Basel, collection of H. Hess, holotype A139. Its type locality is Echinoderms, Oberer Hauptrogenstein, Late Bajocian, Schinznach, Aargau, which is in a Bajocian open shallow subtidal grainstone/marl in Switzerland.
