Entalina was named by Monterosato (1872) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than-l R Sepkoski's reference number: 914]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Entalinidae by Wells and Houston (2001); to Scaphopoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Entalininae by Reynolds and Steiner (2008).
