Taxonomy
Lyticoceras was named by Hyatt (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: K Vala K Haut-l]. Its type is Ammonites cryptoceras.

It was assigned to Neocomitinae by Reboulet (1996); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Endemoceratinae by Klein (2005) and Alsen (2006).
