Taxonomy
Apachella arizonensis was named by Winters (1963) [Apachella? arizonensis]. Its type specimen is AMNH 28002/3:1, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cibecue Road, Locality 4, which is in a Kungurian shallow subtidal limestone in the Supai Formation of Arizona.
