Ophiolepis falsa was named by Jagt (2000). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Holotype NHMM JJ 7551, paratypes NHMM JJ 4989a/b and NHMM MB 761-9a/d.

two circlets, abutting radial shields partially covered by pentagonal and triangular plates, few interradial plates; only two proximalmost dorsal arm plates abut; lateral arm plates weakly constricted to tumid, robust, smooth, with excavated articulation bosses and four diminutive spine tubercles; large tentacle pore indentations over
entire arm length; vertebrae of zygospondyline type.
