Taxonomy
Ophiomusium geisingense was named by Kutscher (1992). It is not extant. Its type locality is Lias Epsilon, Toarcian, Bachhausen/Bayern, which is in a Toarcian offshore claystone in Germany.
It was recombined as Mesophiomusium geisingense by Kutscher and Villier (2003).
