Cambridium was named by Horný (1957) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Atda-u Cm lMid-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1,14,522]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Cambridiidae by Horný (1957), Knight and Yochelson (1960) and Yochelson (1969); and to Mollusca by Sepkoski (2002).
