Agnostus trisectus was named by Salter (1864). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Lotagnostus trisectus by Ahlberg and Ahlgren (1996); it was recombined as Lotagnostus (Lotagnostus) trisectus by Bao and Jago (2000).
