Antispira was named by Perner (1903) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-m]. It is not extant. Its type is Antispira praecox.

It was assigned to Gastropoda by Perner (1903); to Scaevogyrinae by Knight et al. (1960); to Onychochilidae by Linsley and Kier (1984) and Fryda and Rohr (1999); and to Hyperstrophina by Sepkoski (2002).
