Raphistoma affinis was named by Foerste (1887). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was corrected as Raphistoma affine by Foerste (1893); it was recombined as Raphistomina affinis by Stearn (1956); it was recombined as Liospira affinis by McLearn (1924) and Wagner et al. (2007).
