Aspidotheca
Taxonomy
Aspidotheca was named by Dahmer (1936) [Sepkoski's age data: D Sieg Sepkoski's reference number: 362
NOTE: Due to delays in the publication of Dahmer's monography, Teichert discusses and assigns a new species to Dahmer's genus in a paper published in 1935. So, this might best be Dahmer in Teichert 1935. (This is yet another reason to hate Linnaean taxonomy...)].
It was assigned to Pterothecinae by Knight et al. (1960); to Pedasiolinae by Wahlman (1992); and to Bellerophontida by Sepkoski (2002).
