Gischler et al. 2003"As one species is currently referred to Ibergirhynchia, as species diagnosis" Species diagnosis [Ibergirhynchia contraria new combination: "Medium sized rhynchonellidae, subtriangular, subquadrate, to subpentagonal in outline; lenght/width-ration averages 0.85. Biconvex profile, greater convexity in pedicle valve; weakly sulcate brachial valve with correspoinding fold in pecilde valve, fold may be flat topped. ANterior commissure sulcate; lateral commissure straight to slightly flexed. Ornamented with up to 30 costae on each valve. Short dental lamellae in pedicle valve interior. Brachical valve interio with flat hing plates, ventrally arching crura; weak median septum; crural plate connect hinge plate with the floor of the brachial vale."
