Taxonomy
Calamophyllia aylmeri was named by Gregory (1900). Its type specimen is 1. Its type locality is Auradu, Auradu Limestone, which is in a Paleocene reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Auradu Limestone Formation of Somalia. It is the type species of Tubicora.
It was recombined as Tubicora aylmeri by Gregory (1990) and Carbone (1993).
