Taxonomy
Pecten antiaustralis was named by Tate (1886) [TYPE LOCALITY: Upper beds, Aldinga, South Australia]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Mimachlamys antiaustralis by Cotton (1947); it was recombined as Chlamys antiaustralis by Darragh (1970).
