Voluta variculosa was named by Lamarck (1802) [TYPE LOCALITY: Eocene, Grignon, France]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Grignon (Lamarck collection), which is in a Lutetian open shallow subtidal sandstone/sandstone in France.
