Tylospira pagodiformis was named by Ludbrook (1978) [TYPE LOCALITY: GSSA Loc. 4534-F1, Eyre Highwat, W of Eucla Motel, Western Australia. Roe Calcarenite (Late Pliocene).]. Its type specimen is WAM70.1818 and is not a trace fossil.
