Palaeocypraea eripnides was named by Darragh (2002) [? Palaeocypraea eripnides = Cypraea (Zoila) n. sp. Beu and Maxwell, 1990: 96, pl. 4j, k. TYPE LOCALITY: Pitt Island, Chatham Islands. Red Bluff Tuff *Late Teurian-Late Waipawan, Late Paleocene-Early Eocene).]. Its type specimen is TM8124, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
