Babylonites was named by Yochelson (1956) [Sepkoski's age data: P Leon P Guad-l Sepkoski's reference number: 109,797]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Euomphalina by Sepkoski (2002); and to Omphalotrochidae by Knight et al. (1960), Morris and Cleevely (1981), Linsley and Kier (1984) and Ketwetsuriya et al. (2014).
