Pycinaster corbaricus was named by Breton and Vizcaïno (1997). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Holotype MHNH 8925, paratypes MHNH 8926-8930.

G. Breton and D. Vizcaïno 1997Pycinaster with superomarginal plates of the disk of large size, cuneiform, with an extreme development of the upper face (tumidity). Lateral faces relatively low, depressed and oblique. Granule pits very fine and dense or lacking. Bearing spine marginal plates. Pedicellariae pits pentagonal or hexagonal.
