Nymphaster fontis

Taxonomy
Nymphaster fontis was named by Breton and Vizcaïno (1997). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Holotype MHNH 8942, paratypes MHNH 8943-8947. Its type locality is Middle Ilerdien, Fontcouverte, Aude, which is in a Ypresian offshore marl in the Marnes de Foncouverte Formation of France. It was considered monophyletic by Breton and Vizcaïno (1997).

G. Breton and D. Vizcaïno 1997Interradial superomarginals very tall, highly domed abactinally. Face abradial slightly reentrant with fine granule pits. Granule pits larger, irregular on the abactinal dome. No spine. Inferomarginals of the disk weakly differentiated morphologically from the superomarginals. Marginals becoming progressively lower in arm. External face angular with abradial side vertical and adradial one horizontal. Sometime one or two spine bases on the angle.
