Caletaster girardi

Taxonomy
Caletaster girardi was named by Breton (1978). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle of Le Havre, holotype MHNH 2265. It is the type species of Caletaster. It was considered monophyletic by Breton (1978) and Breton (1992).

G. Breton 1978Stellate with short blunt arms. R nearly twice as r. More than 10 pairs of marginals from the mid-interradius to the tip of the arm, four bordering the disk. Superomarginals abutting on the central axis of the arm. Marginals curved with a convex profile. External face flat. Granule pits of medium size, fine or lacking, organized in a hexagonal framework, when present. Pedicellariae unknown.
