Crateraster favosus

Taxonomy
Teichaster favosus was named by Spencer (1913). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Natural History Museum, holotype BNHM E 13238, paratype BNHM E 13300. It is the type species of Teichaster. It was considered monophyletic by Gale (1987).

It was recombined as Crateraster favosus by Lewis (1993), Jagt (2000) and Reich and Frenzel (2002).

A. S. Gale 1987Arms curved aborally. Marginals decrease in size evenly towards arm tips, superomarginals with steeply inclined rounded aboral surfaces, lateral surfaces short, vertical. Rugosities absent in fully-grown individuals.
