Metopaster parkinsoni calcar was named by Spencer (1913). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Natural History Museum, London, lectotype BNHM E 13305.

It was recombined as Metopaster calcar by Gale (1987).

A. S. Gale 1987Two supero- and inferomarginals present in each side of arm. Ultimate inferomarginal elongated, triangular. Aboral protuberances present on superomarginals. Granule pits restricted to aboral swelling of superomarginals.
