Fomalhautia hortensae

Taxonomy
Metopaster hortensae was named by Adkins and Winton (1920). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Texas Christian University, Holotype TCU 1083. Its type locality is Asteroidea, Reid locality 9, Dirks, Pawpaw fm, Fort Worth, which is in an Albian offshore shelf claystone in the Pawpaw Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Fomalhautia.

It was recombined as Fomalhautia hortensae by Blake and Reid (1998).
