Dictydaster miloni was named by Mercier (1935) [destroyed during World War II]. It is not extant. It is the type species of Dictydaster.

It was recombined as Metopaster miloni by Villier (2010).

L. Villier 2010Mercier described and illustrated a single enlarged ultimate superomarginal plate of Metopaster. The actinal side has five faces for articulation with inferomarginal plates. The adradial face of articulation with the oposite EUS is low, ovale, elongated. The abactinal doming is well defined, elongated in the axis of the plate. The external face with ornament made up of a central area reduced to vermiculate thickenings and sprockets.
