Taxonomy
Platyclymenia montana was named by Korn and Titus (2006). Its type specimen is MB.C.9129.1, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Red Hill, which is in a Famennian marine shale in the Three Forks Formation of Montana.
