Taxonomy
Loxonema knighti was named by Yochelson (1962). Its type specimen is USNM 138991, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Jerome Hill Section, which is in an Osagean carbonate limestone/chert in the Redwall Limestone Formation of Arizona.
It was recombined as Pseudozygopleura knighti by Mazaev (2019) and Wagner (2023).
