Nucula (Linucula) tutamoensis was named by Marwick (1931) [TYPE LOCALITY: GS 1296, Tutamoe Fm, Tutamoe, East Coast, North Island, New Zealand (Lilburnian=Middle Miocene). TYPE REPOSITORY: NZGS (now GNS Science, Lower Hutt, New Zealand).].
