Taxonomy
Nuculana epacris was named by Moore (1963) [TYPE LOCALITY: Oregon (Miocene). HISTORY: Type by original designation of Epacroleda Savitskii 1969 [Coan et al. 2000].]. It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 563208. It is the type species of Epacroleda.

It was recombined as Epacroleda epacris by Savitskii (1969).
