Pleurotomaria (Biangularia) was named by Spitz (1907) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi D Give Sepkoski's reference number: 362]. It is not extant. Its type is Pleurotomaria (Biangularia) frechi.

It was reranked as Biangularia by Knight et al. (1960) and Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Pleurotomaria by Spitz (1907); to Murchisoniidae by Knight et al. (1960); and to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
