Leda inflatiformis was named by Chernyshev (1939) [HISTORY: Type by subsequent designation of Phesta Chernyshev 1951 [Coan et al. 2000]].

It was recombined as Phestia inflatiformis by Chernyshev (1951) and Fang and Cope (2004).
