Taxonomy
Buccinum harpa was named by Linnaeaus (1758) [HISTORY: Type of Harpa Röding 1798 by tautonomy [Vokes 1998].]. It is extant. It is the type species of Harpa.

It was recombined as Harpa harpa by Vokes (1998), Kosnik (2002) and Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
