Taxonomy
Cataschisma was named by Branson (1909) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-u S Wenl-u Sepkoski's reference number: 797]. It is not extant. Its type is Cataschisma typa.

It was assigned to Planozonides by Knight et al. (1960); and to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
