Taxonomy
Laevisoolithus sochavai was named by Mikhailov (1991). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is PIN 2970/5, an egg, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bugin Tsav [SMPE/SMGE], which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial sandstone in the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia.
