Taxonomy
Ostrea ziczac was named by Linnaeus (1758) [DISTRIBUTION: Caribbean (Recent).]. It is extant. It is the type species of Pecten (Euvola).

It was recombined as Pecten ziczac by Weisbord (1964); it was recombined as Pecten (Euvola) ziczac by Woodring (1982); it was recombined as Euvola ziczac by Coan et al. (2000) and Petuch and Roberts (2007).
