Taxonomy
Rhodanomys latens was named by Werner (1994). It is not extant. Its type specimen is SMNS 44615/R-7 M2 sup. sin., a tooth. Its type locality is Eggingen-Mittelhart 2, which is in a MP 30/MN 1 lacustrine mudstone/sandstone in the Lower Freshwater Molasse Formation of Germany.
