Taxonomy
Pecten latiauratus was named by Conrad (1837) [DISTRIBUTION: California-Baja California, Mexico (Recent); California (Miocene).]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Pecten (Chlamys) latiauritus by Arnold (1903) and Arnold (1906); it was recombined as Pecten (Leptopecten) latiauratus by Jordan and Hertlein (1926); it was recombined as Leptopecten latiauratus by Moore (1984), Coan et al. (2000) and Hendy (2021).
